Moefya

Moefya was born and raised in the middle of Brooklyn New York, in the area of “do or die” Bed-Stuy (Bedford Stuyvesant), a neighborhood that was surrounded by drugs, poverty and crime. He was named Roshead Claybrooks by his mother who suffers from mental illness and with no father around he was forced into a foster home at age 12, along with his two younger sisters. He was later adopted by his grandmother who was an off Broadway dancer and aspiring jazz singer. Roshead started rapping at age 17, which is later than most given his lyrical ability and magnetic persona. With early hoop dreams and the urge to be on the big stage, after graduating high school his life in crime on the streets began and was short lived. 
He started his rap career in a group called Stuyboyz and built a local buzz performing at clubs, bars and lounges. They also created a wider fan base with their online presence through social networks and blog sites. In 2007, they released their first mixtape Ready for the Game and then again in 2009 with Blood Sweat and Swag. Moefya began on his own path after graduating from the Institute of Audio Research in 2013. This enabled him to hear and make music differently than other artists of his kind. As he continues in his journey Moefya has only one goal in mind and that is to make the world press play.
