Bio

Born in Detroit, I started playing at the age of 11. I loved music in school even more than two other passions, sports and art. As a teenager, I started a local band called Blessed, a group with my brothers and cousins. We did a lot of concerts around the city and state, which landed us on some big gospel tours with Detroit's own Winans, Rance Allen, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, just to name a few. My music teacher at that time was Michael Brooks of Commissioned, who introduced me to touring. Michael Brooks gave me my first start playing on a professional level, and I'm very grateful. Earl Wright Jr. was also key in my developement and still is my mentor to this day. After experiencing the road with several gospel artists such as Fred Hammond, Witness, and Commissioned, I moved on to the big time, some would say, to R&B tours with the guidance of two Detroit brothers Kern and Valdez Brantley who has mastered the touring indusrty, in R&B, Gospel, etc. As musical director for Aaliyah, we did several tours with R&B artist Keith Sweat, and Blackstreet just to name a few. We also did big events like the Essence Festival etc. Then it was on to international tours in Japan, Germany and London. I finally came back to my roots where I completed my touring career with gospel artist, pastor Donnie McKlurkin, Curt Carr, Lexi, Men of Standard and Commissioned. I've also had the opportunity to write and produce with some of these great artist like Commissioned, Virtue, and William Murphy lll and Darius Twyman. Currently I am producing my first inspirational smooth jazz album with guest producer Randy Scott(sax), and artist Lin Rountree(trumpet) of Detroit. I hope to create a style of music thats first inspirational, then timeless. Stay tuned.
