Biography

Mogel's Brew is a Philadelphia based, female fronted quartet, made from the finest organic rock and roll ingredients, spiced with psychedelic hints of funky jazz and trance-fused with an element of electronica, so it goes down smooth. The belief that music conveys emotion on a vast, endless spectrum, which can be inspiring as well as therapeutic, is one of the puzzles they grow closer to solving night after night. From the start, every intention was to create things that had never been seen (or heard), but seem familiar.

Often referred to as the " Philadelphia jam scene’s best kept secret", their ability to improvise from plasmic emotions along with the crowd’s undying energy is just one of the many things that set the 'Brew' aside from most acts. The band’s genre twisting musical approach, coupled with their instrumental control and the diverse dynamic flow they bring to the stage fuels each live performance into a massive blaze that is impossible for any audience to escape. As the quest for their holy grail continues, and the universe expands; there is a silent realization that though goals might be reached, destiny will not be forgotten.

The dexterity to capture, bottle up, and transport the raw force from the stage to the studio was a key component to assure that not only is anything possible, but nothing is impossible. With the release of their first album, Isn’t Real, Mogel's Brew is producing a batch that everyone is welcome to enjoy as they continue to cut their own path.

This is story oriented neo-fusion, not mindless jamming, with the goal always being to present our emotions to the crowd and grow the communal energy to new levels.

Set List

Sets are always changing and they can range from 50 minutes to 2 hours depending on the setting and vibe of the venue. Although a bulk of the live repertoire is original, covers range from the psychedelic 60's era to modern grooves.

We have been known to do creative things with our setlists...we do not only end songs, but we will tie both covers and originals together. And that is not genre specific. An example of a sequence we may do is as follows.
Franklin's Tower--->Isn't Real (an original)--->Dancing in the Streets--->Psycho Killer--->One Nation Under a Groove--->Life During Wartime--->Psycho Killer.
We really consider there to be no boundaries on how a setlist can develop or expand.
