BIOGRAPHY

Mogz, was born Tasin Kayven in Los Angeles California in a few days shy of Christmas, in the early 1990‘s. He soon after fell in love with music about the age of 7, after hearing Eminem take rap to an entire new generation of music lovers. He credits music for “saving his life” because if not for his love of the art, he says he may have ended up in the dangerous street life that plagued his neighborhood near the Wilshire District, a densely populated area of Los Angeles, a short distance from downtown. This part of Los Angeles is home to an uncountable number of nationalities, speaking many languages, all competing to live the American dream while trying to avoid being a victim of “the hood”.

Mogz didn’t consider music as a lifestyle until one summer when he was 13 years old, when he visited his cousin in The Bronx, New York who told him to “spit” for him. When he got back to LA, he started hanging out and recording at a friends studio and did a few performances where someone who heard him encouraged him by telling him he had a unique style. It was at that point, he decided to put a 100 percent effort into his music. He immediately made a goal to himself, that someday he would reward his mom for all of her hard work and dedication to raising him.

Mogz has come along way from his early days by maturing his talents into a format that has attracted thousands of well wishers, many of whom you can find on his myspace page. Myspace.com/mogzla. He constantly developing his art, recording new songs and is collaborating on a music video with Executive Sound Productions, he found through his myspace friend/artist, “Grand Angel“. He hopes to land a recording contract in the near future or to keep building up his own music empire.

Mogz message to his friends and colleagues is “If you know who I am, you know what I am capable of and if you don’t, let’s just say your in for a ride. Who is MOGZ? Ask yourself that, and you will soon find out. Because, I am Music. I am Hip Hop. I am You. I am MOGZ!”
