"[TRACK OF THE DAY: MOHO MYNOKI "MIDORI"]"

WE LEARNED STUFF TODAY. For real. We went down to one of them-there networking events organised by our good friends at The Orchard, who told us all about their wonderful plans for the next…bit of the year, we guess. Illuminating and insightful as this afternoon’s presentations from what we understand to be one of the friendliest and forward-thinking companies were, we were doubly pleased to turn up at Shoreditch House as, you may recall, we don’t get invited that often. We’re not members. One half of Killing Moon’s flatmates is, so that’s alright for them. But what about the poor old other half? It’s a change in pace to be actively invited to these events at such glamourous locations, and of course we had to yield to our own ineptitude and ask several locals where the actual entrance to the damn place was following orbiting that partcular block for a good 15 minutes, doubling up as a broadcast message that we’re definitely not this cool really. In the wake of this new-found sense of semi-professional academia, we also learned of London town’s latest sonic assault in form of dual female-vocal centric Moho Mynoki (try saying that 10 times really quickly). Two ladies and two men form the foundation of this dynamic foursome (we can count as well!!) who have been racking up plays on several London-based radio stations and building a steady following by virtue of the handful of shows that they have undertaken in the weeks gone past, which we believe is set to increase in the weeks to come following announcing a show at The Shoreditch on 29th October. Disseminating the sounds gives us an impression that if The Organ decided to lighten up a little bit and discovered the airy vibes of Warpaint whilst delving into the brave new frontiers of electronic music, it may sound a tad like this. Then again, it may well not. All that we know, fundamentally, is that we’ve played this no less than 10 times consecutively in the last half an hour and we’re still as hooked as we were the first time we pressed play. Give it a go and see what happens. - Killing Moon
