Music bridges people around the world. No matter your place of birth, economic class or skin color it all evokes a human feeling, and as Bob Marley once said “One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain”. Born in Brooklyn’s tough Bushwick neighborhood, Mojo Morgan was raised in Springfield, MA while still maintaining a family home in Jamaica. He spent his summer vacations back in New York’s hippest outer borough, where he returned after high school. As a member of legendary reggae band "Morgan Heritage" and recording for the first time professionally since the 80’s, music is embedded in Mojo's soul.

Mojo Morgan was exposed to everything from the godfathers of Roots Reggae to top 40 American Radio: everything from Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix to The Cranberries and Hootie and The Blowfish. Those musical influences shaped his musical education and are responsible for Mojo Morgan’s solo project and new sound called “Rasta Rock”.

In 2009 the EP “got Mojo?” was released to rave reviews and his music found it’s way onto Nike’s promotional radar. As a further stamp of approval, Mojo Morgan even received the go ahead from Sting to cover the Police’s “Roxanne”. The EP gained major media coverage on outlets such as ABC News NOW’s “What’s The Buzz”. Receiving such great reviews and worldwide fans wanting more, Mojo’s solo EP has set the stage for his first solo album in 2012.

Mojo Morgan directed his last video “Million $ Check” which was shot in Dakar, Senegal. His remix for the single “Million $ Check” featured Stephen Marley & Damian Marley and a resurgence of radio airplay occurred several months after the release of the original version, the remix shot to the top of charts in Jamaica, New York, South Florida, Italy, Holland and the UK. “Million $ Check” embodies the fulfillment of “Rasta Rock” which combines Rock, Reggae, Hip-Hop with a touch of soul.

The lead single from Mojo's upcoming solo debut full length album "New Dawn" featuring sultry Jazz singer Nina Simone and his brother Peetah Morgan is a blend of all that embodies the singer. Jazz, R&B and Reggae blended with perfect harmony to deliver a message of hope. Mojo says, “When you listen to this song, you can hear, see and feel the pain of people around the globe”. The singer goes on to say, “we should always try to look on the bright side of situations in life, because when one door closes, there are many more doors that will surely open".

Mojo continues to maintain the fans he has already captured touring alongside Morgan Heritage, and in the summer of 2011 he had the pleasure to reach out beyond the groups touring fan base when he did the Vans Warped Tour. The tour took him and his band The Matadors across North America playing for over 10,000 people everyday with bands like Paramore, Yelawolf and Gym Class Heroes gaining him an eclectic mix of new fans. Mojo Morgan's solo CD is sure to be a milestone in a career already studded with numerous accomplishments and accolades.
