"guitar-driven harmonica-powered rock ‘n roll juggernaut"

The local Madison guitar-driven harmonica-powered rock ‘n roll juggernaut known as Mojo Radio has a lot of positive momentum to hang their hats on these days. Their first self-titled CD has garnered attention in both the Midwest and the East Coast, as well as Germany and France. Having just signed to the self-proclaimed “high octane riffage total guitar” label Grooveyard Records, the group is now fine-tuning material for a second full length release. I was recently able to catch the band in their rehearsal space to get some insight in to how they got to this enviable position in such a short time span, and what the future promises. Mojo Radio is Jason “JP” Peterson on guitar, drummer extraordinaire Brent King, bassist Scott Aumann, and singer/harp player Adam Zierten. - Maximum Ink

"Adam Zierten's vocals are double edged like the sweet buzz from a whiskey sour."

Mojo Radio. Sadly, time travel is not possible for most of us. Mojo Radio is in the small minority who has found the flux capacitor. With the help of some sort of wormhole, they dropped in from the skanky clubs of the UK circa 1973. This might not be true, but you would never know from listening to their live show. My favorite song from them is “Throw Your Hat in the Ring.” Layers of lyrical double-meaning peer around an alley’s corner while the boys rage through the streets of rock. Adam Ziertan’s vocals are double edged like the sweet buzz from a whiskey sour. - Dane 101

Bio

Remember when the quality of music was judged by the raw force of a bands dynamic, as opposed to corporate sales charts and overproduced recordings? Well just in case the world may have forgotten, Mojo Radio is here to remind you. With emphasis on ripping guitar lines, solid rhythm backbone, and punchy, soulful vocals, Mojo Radio aims to usher in a new approach to music thats reminiscent of the great rock n roll and blues techniques that have stood the test of time. Drawing heavily from the influences of bands like The Black Crowes, Drive-By Truckers, Humble Pie, Free, The Faces, as well as blues artists like Muddy Waters, Freddie King, and Sonny Terry. Mojo Radio creates music that commands attention by way of an undeniable blues-rock groove and pure musical mojo. This philosophy landed them on Grooveyard Records. The band is currently recording their second album to be released on the Grooveyard label, and their debut album is album distributed worldwide through Grooveyard Records. Mojo Radio has their songs played on local radio stations 105.5 WMMM and 89.9 WORT on a regular basis, and they are also played on air in Europe. Mojo Radio caught the attention of Bud Light and are sponsored by this beer giant. Mojo Radio has had the honor of working with legendary Cheap Trick drummer, Bun E. Carlos, on pre-production for their first album. The band still believes that they are best seen live, and Mojo Radio continues to win fans over show after show.
