New age Chilli Peppers on home soil. MojoRising is a local treasure for the Melbourne music scene
No spangles, no glitter, no showy special effects. If MojoRising represents anything it is simple hard rock; good rock at that. Their music is so loud that you can feel it pumping through the floor boards, making your heart thump along to the rhythm. The crowd stay mesmerised to their place as they watch the performance, shifting only after the band has wound things up.
Simple and sweet they may be; boring they most definitely are not. Mojo Rising screams of the Chilli Peppers. They both share the same funked up style of music and innovation privy to only select groups. The addition of a tamborine adds a spark to their music. A hybrid of classic and unique rock, this band will definitely get your mojo on the move
Their passion is their music and this is all but obvious in their lead singer, Jozsef James. Hard work and solid talent are definitely paying off for the band who work well as a team. Each member is given the opportunity to strut their stuff, allowing for killer drum solos and an awesome guitar performance. The band is achieving what they had always set out to do; relating to their audience. “It’s important for me to connect with people while I sing” Jozsef clarifies for me after the gig. “It’s the main reason why I love performing.”
No bright lights, no fancy gimmicks, it’s definately the music that brings MojoRising home to their spell bound fans.

Bio
A band destined for big things is what you would think after seeing them live or listening to one of their songs. MojoRising is a rock & roll band from Melbourne fusing elements of blues, funk and rock in a world where reality talent contestants are infecting the charts. Lead singer, songwriter and keys player Jozsef James fronts the band in a way reminiscent of the late Michael Hutchence and is the creative center of the group. Backed up by the cliche 'crazy, don't know how long he wll live for' drummer is the hard hitting Aki Papas who is also a talented session drummer who has been in other Melbourne bands and on flaming guitar is prodigy Sam Ploutos adding his bluesy guitar riffage.
With many relevant themes in the songs you hear such as freedom, love, hurt, rebellion and music it is important to know that they play with a certain ferociousness on stage and is something that must be experienced. This band was made to fill stadiums, but for the moment they will pack clubs and pubs around town and wll leave you remembering the time you first saw them play live
