Bio

Monarc Red was formed out of a weekend country bar band that played on the weekends. The guitarist, drummer and bass player played with a country singer/songwriter but had other influences that pushed them to start a band based on rhythm and blues and rock. The band met the lead singer at their home church and Monarc Red was formed. Their first gig was a benefit concert for a local boy who died in a car accident. The band had no originals but played three covers and ended with a gospel and hard core blues version of the hymn Precious Lord. After that, the band began playing around and writing their own material and in the summer of 2008 they recorded their first album.

The band has a variety of influences from all types of genres. Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Amos Lee, Dave Barnes and James Taylor.

Their sound is very unique and has often been described as difficult to categorize. It is a mixture of blues, rock and soul that leaves audiences wanting more.
