Bio

Throughout the past decade, Atlanta’s hip hop scene has not only skyrocketed in fame but become a go-to staple for the culture’s frontmen. With a slew of artists forever painting a vivid picture of the city’s unforgiving street life, arises one known for not only painting tales of the same, but doing so constructively. 21 yr-old Dominique Magee (MoneyMakinNique) got his start rhyming at age 8, taking after his emcee Mother whose dreams were put on hold, due to her son’s birth. The two relocated to Atlanta in 2001 leaving behind an extremely migratory past for stability. Known for his witty, detailed, and conversationally charged rhyme scheme, Nique has worked effortlessly to grab the attention of the city’s youth. Making noise in the city with his team, the well promoted Money Makin Brothers, Nique has opened for the likes of Curren$y, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar. Citing music as the core reason he’s “not locked up” , the young wordsmith is open about his commitment to the art form. “Music is the only reason I’m not locked up, I did some dumb ass things and its only by the grace of God and motivation for this shit to work out, that i’ve been trying do the right thing. I’m a young nigga from an educated household who knows struggle and is connected to the streets, but has been blessed to see a lot more than that. I take everyday experiences and paint pictures through song!” On his most recent project “GasmOney” its clear Nique’s plight is one that speaks for most youth in Atlanta. “People tell me to have patience, I get up everyday thinking this music shit gotta work by tomorrow. Thats my mindset simply becasue it really really do gotta happen tomorrow. I’m runnin outta time.
