Mon.Key.Pod

Mon.Key.Pod formed three years ago as an instrumental, electronic based side project for friends Justin Miller and Christian Reinhardsen. There was no clear focus in the beginning, just loads of equipment and improvised ambience. Songs began to develop and the focus became live performance, which consisted of Justin on synth, bass and sampler and Christian on MPC, synth and drums. To fill the void of a Vocalist, the band uses video projections to captivate the audience and allow the music to unfold as if it was the accompanying soundtrack.
In 2008 they began working with Producer/Engineer Ryan Casey (KaeoFlux) who has produced records under the alias Pilot Balloon and Komadose. Casey’s talent behind the boards and as the third member of the group on Keys and Synth, has helped Mon.Key.Pod write, record and release their self-titled debut, which is available at itunes, cdbaby.com and from their website www.monkeypodmusic.com
There are elements of rock, electronic and hip-hop in Mon.key.Pod’s sound, which makes them hard to classify. They have shared the stage with Daedelus, Airborn Audio, Eliot Lipp, Lymbyc Systym, Skeletons, The Fatales, and Japanther to give you an idea. Their music has been licensed by MTV and BMW.
