"...A delightful blend of western roots coupled with indie rock sensibility. The band's innate feel for catchy yet, developed melodies set them apart from being casually thrown in with contemporaries such as the shins or arcade fire..."
4.5 out of 5 - The Observer
"...Washington's very own Mon Marie is another "indie rock" outfit pushing the limits. On tracks such as "Transient Night" off their EP debut, they seamlessly combine dance beats with thick callous guitars. Smithson's hallowing vocals seep into places where few vocalist dare to venture. It's raw malicious indie pop, the kind that dies hard..." - The AS Review

Bio
After two years in the making, Mon Marie the project has finally become Mon Marie the band. Initially conceptualized in Jackson, Michigan by song writing partners John Smithson and Jason Davis, the band went through severe changes including, but not limited to, a move from Michigan to Washington state.
In Washington the line-up was completed by the addition of bassist Daniel Walker and drummer Chris Thielen. Drawing on influences from The Cure, to Rachmaninoff, to Hank Williams Sr., their style incorporates aspects from a variety of musical tastes and interests while maintaining a consistency all their own.
