Bio
Few musical partnerships that start when the members are in junior high school rarely last beyond the occasional school dance or garage jam, but lead vocalist Randy Ambroise and lead guitarist Ed Marks of Monroe Drowning have been playing together since their early teens. Honing their grooves and knack for big guitar riffs by learning to play covers, Randy and Ed soon wished to explore and build upon their own musical vision, so the duo formed Monroe Drowning in 2000. They worked with numerous side musicians trying to pin down their own sound. After playing a few shows the band hooked up with classically trained bassist Dave Wolfe of Philadelphia. And in 2003 the final piece of the puzzle came together; long time friend and contributor Stephen LaRosa, a student at The Juliard School, joined the band. Combining the heart and volume of early Pearl Jam with the sense of mystery and sonic exploration of Tool, Monroe Drowning stands out among today's modern rock bands, by playing with soul and conviction. Monroe Drowning's genuine passion for music is creating a buzz; playing such notable clubs throughout Long Island and New York City including The Pyramid, CBGB's, The Downtown, The Continental, and The Hard Rock Cafe.
