Bio

Monster Ridden Tokyo keeps Radiohead, Pink Floyd, John Zorn, Public Enemy, and Wu Tang Clan close to our hearts. Many other influences, too many to mention but right now we perform 90% improvised. We have a few songs that we hit for each show, but other than that, we play what happens. We are not slackers, we rehearse regularly and take what we do seriously, but still have fun.

The band started with Casey and Jose wanting to play out, combining noise with DJ / beats for a live - ambient type of sound. Little by little, interested musicians came and went, as most recognize how much fun Monster Ridden Tokyo’s music is, and that it actually says something. Adam joined this past summer after approaching Casey and Jose at a gig in Cleveland. Adam stated - "I think the thing your missing is electric cello?", and they immediately agreed, responding "Who doesn't need electric cello." Matt was approached by Casey not much after, and that formed our core group. We have guest drummers and singers occasionally. Monster’s goal is to bring a new kind of music and atmosphere to the club scene. We want more collaboration and support from the music and artist community first, knowing that when we get it right the fans will follow. That being said, we have a pretty big following in the Cleveland area, and are expanding to Akron and Columbus, hoping to make it to New York and Chicago soon. We have played Cleveland venues: Grog Shop, Beachland Ballroom, and Phantasy, and will be playing at the Lime Spider and Anabelle’s in Akron shortly.
