Jay Montra

Jay Montra is an American artist/songwriter/director whom adds "class" to every classic in the making. Adding a unique cool, calm, and collective style to create a refined version of commercial hip-hop music. His lyrical abilities, mixed with a unique tone of voice and flow like none other over soulful jazzy beats; make him the artist whom you'd regret missing. 

Not begin able to find a place that correctly suited him in the Miami Hip-hop scene, Montra had to work from the ground up to create his own lane. Looking back at the rough path of others from the city such as Pitbull and Rick Ross; Montra quickly realized his city would not be so reluctant to simply "handing out" its support. With knowledge of this Montra still felt as if absolutely nothing would stop him from successfully establish his name in the music industry. When Miami no longer felt right Jay made his move to New York city where he would gather his thoughts sleeping on his grandmothers couch; in order to create his next project. 

He has since then released “Montraband” an online 7 track pre-tape project which was released in the last quarter of 2013. The first video released was for song “Checklist”; which release on his Vevo channel. The video is also recognized for being the first music video filmed in Miami's South Beach Studios after its much awaited renovations. 

 Montra recently added "director" to his resume when he teamed up with Roberto Mario to create New York artist Bodega Bamz video for "HPIC" which received great reception by the media and got Jay his first MTV credit.

 Jay Montra plans on becoming a household name. He’s known for walking tall with his larger than life aspirations and his success is highly due to his relentlessness and persistence.He is currently in the works of his new project due for release in the first quarter of 2015.
