Lyrics

America Rocks

Written By: Monty Milne

In terrible days and horrible shocks
Always remember that America rocks
When the Enemy aims and the trigger cocks
Always remember that America rocks
Cowardly Monsters won't break our locks
Always remember that America rocks
We have the right to think outside the box
That's how I know that America rocks

I am American
I know I'm free
I will not be frightened
From sea to shining sea

Our different cultures have endured hard knocks
Always remember that America rocks
From farms and mountains to city blocks
Always remember that America rocks
In the beautiful skies and harbor docks
Always remember that America rocks
Freedom ticks forever I can hear the tocks
That's how I know that America rocks

I am American
I know I'm free
I will not be frightened
From sea to shining sea

Bless all Americans
Bless all Americans
Bless all Americans
From sea to shining sea

Butterflies In Heaven

Written By: Monty Milne

Verse 1

Sweet brown eyes; so soft with care
I’ll always remember the love you shared

I watched your sunrise; then move to mid-day
In your summer sunset; you passed away

You lived your life hard; you lived your life well
You left me fond memories and great stories to tell

You were all that is good; you were all that is right
The stars shone brighter on that sad summer night

Chorus

But I know that you’re up there happy sitting watching butterflies in heaven
(Repeat once)

Verse 2

In your youth; you loved to explore
And in your old age; you would not ignore

The wonderful sounds; I never could hear
Your passion for life is something I hold dear

Seasons went by; sun and snow
Your cycle of life; I saw come and go

You’re still in my thoughts; you beat in my heart
A love at this level never can part

(Chorus twice)

Bridge

Live you life for day and night
Live your life if you’re wrong or right
Live your life with all your might
Live your life and watch it take flight

Richard Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things

Written By: Monty Milne

Richard shouldn’t play with dead things
(Repeat 3 times)

When he was a boy he spent his time alone
No brothers or sisters filled his empty home
He happened to be the only kid on his block
So he kept company with twigs and shiny rocks

But one day he found a worm burned dead by the sun
He picked it up and twirled it ‘round and had a ton of fun
And his parents would pout and silently shout (that)

Richard shouldn’t play with dead things
(Repeat 3 times)

He’d board a yellow bus and go to high school
And the jocks and the dorks would say he wasn’t cool
He couldn’t keep steep with the marching band
In gym class he couldn’t hold a headstand

And another day passed ignored by the girls
So in science class he danced with dead squirrels
And his teacher would grumble and silently mumble (thought that)

Richard shouldn’t play with dead things
(Repeat 3 times)

Someday I’m gonna be someone
I’ll be the center of everyone’s fun
No one’s gonna talk behind my head
I know what’s alive and I know what’s dead

Nowadays he’s done with worms and squirrels
He keeps his morgue filled with beautiful girls
And they look at him and pout and loudly shout (that)

Richard shouldn’t play with dead things
(Repeat 7 times)
