Bio

Emanuel “Mooney” Robertson was born July 26,1989 in Hampton, Virginia. Mooney began his journey as a musical artist at age 13 after being influenced by hip-hop culture throughout his childhood. Rappers Jay-z, Biggie Smalls, 2pac, Outcast, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr.Dre inspired him to pursue the art form. He ultimately decided to go by the moniker “Money” before changing it to “Mooney”. The name change came from him recording in GHYL Ent. (Get It How You Live) where he accidentally adlibbed three verses in his lps third verse using the term “Mooney” instead of his name Money for his third verse on a promotional track. While with GHYL Ent. Mooney completed his first mixtape under Grammy winning producer Bob Ebeling . He quickly gained a large local following by, distributing his mixtape through social networks and by selling them via cd. He also gained a reputation for his energetic yet self-conscience brand of hip-hop that could influence any and everyone. The experience made him more confident as an artist in which, he began to consider a career as an aspiring rapper. To set him self apart from other local artist, Mooney focused on discussing struggles and obstacles he faced growing up in his rhymes with songs “I Promise” and “Moment Honesty”. He performed as a solo artist, before later joining and later co-producing “Star Money Gang” a local rap group in which he collaborated with them on their “Fly Session” and “Arrogant American” mixtapes. While with SMG, Mooney wrote songs for the band and other artist throughout VA as well. He also appeared in three music videos with the band for their singles, “Handle Mine” Look of It” and “In My Zone”, all of which were directed by, O. Burton-Jones. By September 2010 Mooney became a clothing model for Agio, a clothing manufacture based out of Baltimore Maryland. All of SMG were invited regularly to model their clothes in their live shows and to perform at their grand openings across Baltimore Maryland. After SMG disbanded in January of 2011 due to internal disputes, Mooney began working on his upcoming mixtape Hopes & Dreams and his multimedia firm Logi-Cool LLc. Currently Mooney plans to release his Hope and Dreams mixtape in late August 2011. Sudden Urge ENT *(SUE)
