"Nowhere to Hyde - by Mike Wafer (2 Jan 2010)"

Last Hydey Show
Hyde Park Hotel
Sat Jan 2, 2010

... Understanding only one dynamic - that of 'fuck yeaaaaaaaah', Moonlight Wranglers took over, and gave the crowd its first taste of sheer rock'n'roll for the night. A sensational band to watch live, the Wranglers have a great way of incorporating various sub-genres without becoming too tighed down by any one. Thus they have the bounce of rockabilly, the shimmer of surf, the attitude of outlaw country, and the essential tenacity of punk rock, all rolled into one big wall of fuzz.
Actually, that's not entirely true ... with some nice slide work at the helm, the Moonlight Wranglers also manage to slow things down when they need to, without losing steam. Aside from adding some nice colour to their set, the ease in pace allowed their giant of a frontman to grab himself some well earned beer and, time permitting, oxygen. - Xpress Magazine

"The Stabs @ Rocket Room, Perth - by Lauren Kurtis (5 Feb 2010)"

After a short interval, the (3rd) support act The Moonlight Wranglers hit the stage with their no frills straight-up intricate rock. They are hardcore with melody which is something seen not very often in the local Perth scene. - fasterlouder.com.au

Bio

Moonlight Wranglers’ electrifying live shows lurch from sweat-soaked sex-rock to romantic laments, with driving rhythms pushing their twin guitar pedal sound manipulation. A five piece rock / etc band, they have been lurking in the shadows of Perth (Western Australia) music since 2003. The white-heat rock fire in their belly, blues tear in their eye and earnest cabaret croon in their heart, conspire to satisfy the needs and desires of the initiated and unsuspecting alike.

Having supported touring acts such as Six Foot Hick (Qld), The Hippriests (Germany) and The Stabs (Vic), they have also shared bills with WA’s foremost luminaries including Abbe May, Kill Devil Hills, Tomâs Ford, Will Stoker & Embers, Fear of Comedy, Schvendes and The Painkillers. Their debut EP ‘ At Max´ ’ was delivered in 2007 and their full length LP ‘Last’ was launched in 2010. Moonlight Wranglers were the most inappropriate inclusion on 2007’s W.A. Decay compilation, a natural selection for 2009’s W.A. Gold, and contributed 2 brand new tracks to 2011's Cellar Sessions Volume 1. In January 2010, they are proud to have played the final gig at (the original incarnation of) Perth’s legendary Hyde Park Hotel, and in October 2011 made their long overdue Melbourne debut, playing with Harvest Smoke, La Bastard and Mass Cult.

“This is Wranglers country where things can be strange at the best of times. Human tragedy and the dark ashes and slime that Moonlight Wranglers like to set their music to. Gorge on this, it’s bloody good!”
