Bio

Moonshoes Mumsy is a groove-based indie rock band formed by an eclectic blend of young musicians. Moonshoes has created a distinct sound with music that mixes raucous garage rock with a vintage sixties’ vibe. Moonshoes has a deep and diverse collection of influences ranging from Phish and Cream, to Dylan and Modest Mouse, among many others.

Moonshoes formation was sparked after an impromptu jam session between schoolmates Addison Perkins, Noah Dobbs, and Casey Hughes. Liking the positive outcome of the session, the trio left their existing bands to pursue a new musical direction, and so began Moonshoes Mumsy.

With the lineup set, Moonshoes went to work writing songs and developing their sound. Moonshoes’ debut live performance was in the fall of 2009. A succession of strong live performances followed and culminated in the group heading into the studio. The result was their first EP “Waterfall,” which provided listeners with an introduction to the band and captured a sampling of Moonshoes Mumsy’s root sound.

Addison Perkins (guitar/vocals) is a Dave Matthews worshiper and would play John Denver covers if the rest of the band would let him, but don’t hold that against him.

Noah Dobbs (bass) does solo experimental music and sits in with a folk band from time to time. All that from a guy whose grandparents perform gospel music and great-grandmother played in a bluegrass band.

Casey Hughes (drums) wants to be a rapper and for a time was heavily into metal. You can still hear that influence with his double kick pedal.

Moonshoes Mumsy is currently writing new material and establishing additional live performances to continue to build their fan base.
