Their all-original music takes elements from styles as diverse as rock, folk, bossa nova, reggae, blues and jazz, and integrates them firmly and distinctly into a pop setting. This creates a multicolored musical tapestry which is easy to love. The addition of an electric Irish harp adds extra spice to the sound and makes MoonSnake unforgettable.

The Haunting

Lyrics © Kate Northrop, Music © Elisa Van den Berg, 2008. Performed by MoonSnake

Hungry ghosts keep haunting me
With eyes like starving refugees
They try to slide into my mind
Using fear to make me blind

I see them everywhere I look
They’re in magazines and books
They’re in everything I see
Fairytales and MTV

Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
Everything I see
Is curving in on me
Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
And my world’s getting thin
Like a butterfly
On a pin

My best friend is wearing black
Says she won’t fall in the trap
But she can’t say how she feels
Purged it out with her last meal

She’s so beautiful and pale
As she’s squirming on the nail
Like a monument to death
Fading out with her last breath

Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
Everything I see
Is curving in on me
Twisted mirrors everywhere
Can’t break out, can’t get away
And my world’s getting thin
Like a butterfly
On a pin

Love Song

Love Song

I’m not an Angel
And you’re not a saint
And we are both guilty
We make our constraints
Our road is a long one
But still I would choose
To make my way with you

You know it’s true that love keeps changing
It’s never gonna stay the same
It always takes some rearranging
Until we find our way

You question your constance
You question your wealth
But I’m sure that I trust you
More than you trust yourself
And I know in my heart
There’ll be nobody else
This time I choose

You know it’s true that love keeps changing
It’s never gonna stay the same
It always takes some rearranging
Until we find our way

You know it’s true that love keeps changing
It’s never gonna stay the same
It always takes some rearranging
Until we find our way

I’m not an Angel
And you’re not a saint
And we are both guilty
We make our constraints
Our road is a long one
But still I would choose
To make my way with you

Guilty

Written By: Lyrics by Kate Northrop

Guilty

You tore my heart
But I never told you
You broke my soul
But I never let on
I was so scared
Of your fists and your feet
You were so loud
But I wouldn’t speak

I’m so guilty
Now I take my part
And say goodbye to the innocence
Of a broken heart
Oh, I’m guilty, I’m so guilty
And I’m free

I was so young
But now I’m older
You were so cruel
But I let you be
I sold my soul
To the angel on my shoulder
Now I’ve bought it back
There’s a price to be free

I’m so guilty
Now I take my part
And say goodbye to the innocence
Of a broken heart
Oh, I’m guilty, I’m so guilty
And I’m free

You tore my heart
And now I can tell you
You broke my soul
And now I can speak
I was so scared
And I’m angry now
Now I’m so loud
With friends on my side

I’m so guilty
Now I take my part
And say goodbye to the innocence
Of a broken heart
Oh, I’m guilty, I’m so guilty
And I’m free

All the Same

Written By: Music E. Van den Berg, Lyrics E. Van den Berg & K. Northrop

Stone by stone one next to another
In the hot sand or in the deep water
They ‘re all the same from far away
By loosing your distance you may find a difference

Tree for tree one next to another
Waiting for rain and longing for water
They ‘re all the same from far away
By loosing your distance you may find a difference

We‘re all the same on the same way
We‘re all the same on the same bay
We‘re all the same on the same way
But Nobody can stay
But nobody can stay

Man for man one next to another
Trying to score observing each other
They’re all the same from far away
By loosing your distance you may find a difference

Woman for woman side by side
Longing for love to be satisfied
They’re all the same from for away
By loosing your distance you may find a difference

We‘re all the same on the same way
We‘re all the same on the same bay
We‘re all the same on the same way
But nobody can stay
But nobody can stay

We‘re all the same on the same way
We‘re all the same on the same bay
We‘re all the same on the same way
We‘re all the same
