"All Access Magazine"

"... A very impressive and eloquent album that should cement Matt Fillipinni as one of the finest guitarist in the world today..." - From www.allaccessmagazine.com (USA)

"Bacon Music"

"...this is a wonderful showcase for the first class talents of Matt Filippini, and on this evidence you can expect to hear a lot more of his name in the future." - James Allman from http://www.baconmusic.co.uk (UK)

"Lords Of Metal"

" This project by the Italian guitar player Matt Filippini is the best classic hard rock album in years. Strong and well balanced compositions, great and subtle guitar playing, an excellent rhythm section, a bunch of vocal talents and a powerful production. This album convinces on every level. Time will learn, but I dare to say that 'Time To Make A Stand' is an instant classic.(...) The main reason is the creative genius of Filippini, just like Blackmore and Schenker in their heyday he combines power with subtlety. He took the blues influences of the classic rock bands, worked years on the song material and wasn't satisfied with just powerful riffs and excellent solos. He worked harder. The result is simply amazing." - From Lordsofmetal.nl (HOLLAND)

"Blogcritics.org"

"A damn good album... This is an album of sheer class. I hope this is not a one-off and we hear more from Mr Filippini and his gang of mates." - Marty Dodge from blogcritics.org (USA)

"Mayfairmall 'Zine"

"A quite excellent piece of blues ridden classic rock, an album that all of the artists appearing on it should be proud of" - From www.themayfairmallzine.com (UK)

"Fireworks"

" … classic, grove laden, British blues rock drenched in perspiration and oozing emotion. There’ something about those bands from that early 70’s period that has a timeless quality to it, and whatever it is, Filippini has managed to capture and distil its essence perfectly..." - Review by Dave Cockett (Fireworks/Powerplay) (UK)

Bio

Moonstone Project is the ambitious musical creature of italian guitarist Matt Filippini.

The first album, originally released back in 2006 as "Time To Take A Stand" is a collection of classic rock songs, written by Filippini himself with the collaboration of songwriters close to him...The music is influenced by British classic bluesy hard rock of 70's...you find bits of Free, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Led Zep...sounding as a 2000s record.

Not only a nostalgic affair:-))

As a bonus the album features guest appearances of a bunch of true Rock Legends: Ian Paice (Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Paul Mc Cartney....) , Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult), Steve Walsh (Kansas), Glenn Hughes (Trapeze, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, HTP..), Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, Impellitteri, Alcatrazz, Michael Shenker Group), Kelly Keeling (Michael Shenker Group, John Norum, Dokken, Stuarth Smith, Erik Norlander, George Lynch, Carmine Appice & many others), James Christian (House Of Lords) and Tony Franklin (Firm, Whitesnake, Blue Murder & a million others!), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Blue Murder, King Cobra, Rod Stewart....everyone!), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot, The Cutt).

Additional musicians to embellish this unique musical adventure are Enrico Sarzi & Alex Mori, Maurizio Corriga, Nik Mazzucconi, Chris Catena, Gianluca Tagliavini, Alex Del Vecchio, Daniel Flores, Johan Niemann.

The cd has been recorded @ Silicon Groove/Solid Groove Studios (Bergamo, Italy). Produced by: Matt Filippini & Max Numa. Co-produced by Vadim Galitsyn. Engineered by Vadim Galitsyn and Yonathan Ruckhman.

From 2006 to 2008 Matt Filippini played several shows in Europe with Moonstone Project featuring very special guests like Ian Paice, Glenn Hughes, Carmine Appice and Bernie Marsden (ex Whitesnake).

May 2008 the album has been reissued (on Mausoleum Records) with a new title "Hidden In Time", a revamped artwork in a deluxe digipak edition and 3 bonus tracks featuring Ian Paice and Glenn Hughes.

In June 2008 Matt with the help of the talented Alessandro Del Vecchio completed the new Moonstone Project studio album to be released somewhere in 2009. It will sound more like a real band than just a studio project and will feature some special guest as well to be announced soon!
