Moon Thunder follow suit with un-google-able band names, and sneak quite nearly to the top of that list. Now don't judge this Vans cap wearing kid by his picture. The nineteen year old who dropped out of college this year in pursuit of his musical career has taken quite a journey already. He spent the first sixth months of this year "on a rock in the ocean, a rather lovely, and inspirational rock" recording a full length album, amongst other little ventures.
Moon Thunder's Going Up starts with drum 'n' bass esque dirty drums before piano kicks in and then a musical explosion similar only to The Flaming Lips' kicks in. The E.P. continues in such a diverse way; the drum driven almost musicless Again and Again and Again, the Gogol Bordello climax of Dead, the piano pop indie woah of Rest My Head to the electronic/guitar tongue in cheek cover of The Cure's Friday I'm In Love.
The Going Up E.P. is certainly brilliant, and so unexpected from a nineteen year old, Eric (the sole band member) could take Laugh Out Loud in any direction he wanted and produce something brilliant with it. I would love to offer you the entire E.P. here but instead just wait and get it yourselves from wherever possible. This is one artist you need to keep check of.

headed by principle singer/songwriter, eric, moon thunder is a mixed bag of tricks and is quite a lot of fun to listen to. described as happy indie pop that could be played at a funeral.
the band can be seen around the city of toronto this upcoming summer playing a handful of shows, some acoustic and some being full band.
