"Moorea Malatt: We All Need A Little Nakie"

"Straight forward, sexually frank and strangely empowering. But most of all, Moorea brings the funny." -Carey Ross in the Cascadia Weekly
(a two page review 11.19.08) - The Cascadia Weekly

"X-Rated Christine Lavin"

"Moorea is a delightfully X-Rated Christine Lavin. I say 'delightfully' because she is so genuine and sweet that it's difficult to be put off by her off-coloredness. And she makes her audience think about matters not often (or ever) discussed on the folk stage with such charm and good humor that pretty soon, you are deep within her world of alternative sexuality and you feel so at home, you might just stay."- Nerissa Nields (folk songwriter, performs as Nerissa and Katryna Nields) - Nerissa Nields

Bio

Before becoming primarily a children's singer, Moorea led a musician’s double life playing an upbeat bouncing joyfully on a songwriter’s coffeehouse or small theater stage and then later the same night - naked covered by her Martin at one of your city’s finest cabaret dinner theaters. As the traditional troubadour, her strumming and picking is solid, her projection and enunciation crystal clear, which is fortunate since you will not want to miss a word of wit or nuance. Her newer children's music is simpler and completely family-friendly but not dumbed down- she writes so that the parents ears have something witty to grab on to! Environmentalism, diversity, breastfeeding, cheerios, sharks, and sweet dreams are favorite topics.

Eight years of experience as a touring musician, three studio folk albums: Love and Lack Thereof, Cut and Color, Quickie; a live album (The Naked Folksinger Live). Moorea shared the stage with the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, performance poets Alix Olsen, Tara Hardy and cabaret performance artists Julie Atlas Muz, and Dirty Martini.

Moorea now brings her voice to a new audience in the children's .genre, beginning with the 2011 release, Whip It Out: Songs for Breastfeeding. "Save the Seas ABCs" is coming in 2012
