Bio

Morera (Danay Morera) Born in La Habana, Cuba, the 07 August 1976. Daughter of Ileana and Alberto Morera. When she was very joung, she moved with her family to Bulgary, in Europe: in Sofia, her father worked for the ambassy of Cuba. Here, Morera attended the Soviet School and learned the Russian language. Her favourite subject, also thanks to her maternal grandparents Antonio and Gladys, is music, and she became the first voice of the school's chorous, winning several awards in different contests. In 1990, the Morera family went back to Cuba and Danay went to the Middle School. But it was at the High School that her grandmother Gladys insisted on her having singing lessons. She moved her first steps in the art of music with one of the most important Lyric Masters of Cuba: Carlos Socrates, the solo voice of the Opera Nacional de Cuba. After finishing the High School, Danay attended the University at the High School of Languages and Literature of La Habana: here she learned Literature and English. As her love for music grew stronger, she left University to follow her dream: she became a showgirl in a show for tourists. Among these tourists, there were some important music managers who immediately noticed her artistic talents. She was invited to Italy to take part to the Bomba Cubana show as a singer. She learned a lot about the art of the show thanks to the artistic direction of Virginia Lima, asssited by famous choreographers such as Eduardo Rosillo, and Masters of theatre such as Nelson Dorr. She also learned the Jazz-singing with Antonella Ricci. In 2000, she participated at the Concert of the Century, together with many important artists such as Gianna Nannini, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Turin. In the following years, she did a lot of artistic collaborations as a solo singer and her songs appeared in the International dance hit parades. Morera's new single CD will soon be out: she has a written destiny to be a big success as a pop singer thanks to Latin music. Produced by Romeo Ferrero, responsible of the success of Havana Mambo, this CD is romantic, soft, seductive thanks to the voice of its interpreter, a coloured music party. A latin-acustic, funny and bitter, happy and nostalgic pop. It features the guitar of Matteo Negrin, the piano of Tony Velardi, the cajon of Vito Miccolis, the baby bass of Daniel Martinez Izquierdo and the bass guitar of Javier Masvidal. The most important song of this single CD is solo para ti, presented in latin-acustic but also in a pop version, produced by Madrid da Jos Mestre. Morera, real name Danay Morera, has written a text in English to be included in this CD, a song called Free. This Cd also features two other songs: the famous En un quadro en la pared by Havana Mambo, and a latin-acoustic version of Non l'amore che va via by Vinicio Capossela. The last song Si el corazon hablara was written by Raul Frometa: we can listen to Morera's sweet-sounding interpretation, accompanied by the piano of Peruvian Master J. Cesar Correa of Mercadonegro. Published by the new Mcpodcast.net for the musical publishing editions Tauri s.r.l., the world preview of Morera's single, accompanied by the Havana Mambo band, took place on Sunday, 13th May 2007 in Piazza San Carlo in Turin, during the National Day for Organs' and Tissues' Donation and Trasplant. Later, Morera took part to the Inedito 2007 Show at the "Pulp" disco, on the 18th of May in Milan: she was then accompanied by her music band Latinacustico, and she presented her song En un quadro en la pared.
