At just 15, singer/songwriter MOREYA has an emotional maturity well beyond her years. Her lyrics shed light on serious social issues with beautiful melodies and insightful lyrics.
The first single off her debut album, "Taking Back Our Crown", deals with themes of empowerment and self expression. MOREYA credits her songwriting skills to being "an old soul with a heavy heart". However, she is quick to add that the album “isn’t all serious and that there are plenty of lighthearted moments along the way”.
Industry veteran Qura Rankin whose credits include work with a cadre of industry veterans including Andrew Lloyd Webber, JLo, Pharell Williams, Babyface and Christina Aguilera is producing the self-titled album.
Last year saw the release of the single "Sticks and Stones" which dealt with the subject of bullying. The song was inspired by MOREYA's own family life. "I have two siblings with special needs and they were particularly vulnerable to teasing and bullying,” says MOREYA. "I felt this was my way of standing up for them and kids all around the world".
While not in the studio, MOREYA can be found on the softball field or in front of a camera working with LA Models. MOREYA is signed to Dope Sounds Label.Band Members
