Morgans Door

Morgans Door

BandRockMetal

Imagine the world is being taken over by zombies, and the only thing that can save us is odd time signatures, oddly shaped vocals, rockin guitar, active bass, screaming and good looks. Morgans Door would be our only hope.

Biography

Morgans Door began their quest for epic zombie battles through the majesty of music in the spring of 2004. Starting as an emo-rock band, they constantly felt that there should be something more. After almost two years and 3 bassists, Morgans Door has finally found the lineup that works.
Their sound is complicated and technical but not so in your face it hurts. Complex vocal melodies and even more complicated structures, give Morgans Door a sound that is all theirs.

With hopes of purchasing a van and recording their first L.P. in the summer of '06, The foursome is working diligently at their day jobs to get the money to make it all happen. With two members living outside of Portland (their home town) it has been difficult to really pull together, but here they are every weekend, praying to quit school and work so that they can teach everyone about the joy and necessity of killing the ever growing zombie population, and everyone’s dying to learn. Average shows bring about 50-100 kids in there home town, and they have played nearly every venue available. From the Loveland to the Roseland, they have taught the art of zombie defense.

I know what you're thinking. Could this band be just funny? It is humorous, especially to those who see them watch zombie flicks every second that there's not music, but listen to what the music has to offer. It's all about zombies and oddly enough, it's also all from the heart.

Lyrics

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Written By: Morgans Door

Candles, street signs, red light, no light
Car crash, Windshield, no air, no air

When the lights go down, In the city
I am stranded with, Images of

You, and me, too.
Lightening fell on, you.

Strangled in the mansion hall
Convulsions follow (there's nothing left but empty eyes)

Selective choices, I guess this was my fault

And now these awkward Voices, are consequence of me

I'm sorry, I guess this was my fault
Excuses, will only make this worse

These expressions that we've made, to simplify the truth, "absence makes the heart grow fonder"

Also causes me to, carry on

(Say these words of wisdom)
I should of said them myself

(Break these fractured structures)
It's not worth the hearts that I’ve killed

crashing the oceans tides,
(I am not this person...)

Growing like fireflies,

stepping towards higher ground,

Can you see me?
(I am not this)

So drag the lake
With the ropes around our necks, we'll have to see

I'll never be, the one that you wanted
So you will find me, under four legs of a chair, elevated

Take me, take me back to where love was our bounty,
Take me, to the latter days

Strangled in the mansion hall
Convulsions follow (there's nothing left but empty eyes)

Something The Weather Man Said

Written By: Morgans Door

Ocean, covers my face as I lay down and die,
Countless, hours spent living

And I'll always remember your face, as the water hit your lungs,
I tried to save you, But I'm always too late

Now I, can see the world for what it has become,
No more, countless breathing

and I'll always remember your face, as the water hit your lungs
I tried to save you, but I'm always too late

Every night you die
(under ocean air)
Never a soul to save
(it's always too late)

Waiting for my turn,
when I can breathe the air back to your lungs and save your thoughts on back up disks
so memories will remain
as zeros and ones on blinking screens, analyze me, analyze me

Waiting here on, hospital benches,
is there any sign?
Sir it's been twelve years since she died,
Sir it's, been twelve years since she died...

Waiting here, for you to call
I will see you, with open arms
While I'm, waiting here, for you to call

It's Weird To Focus On Nothing

Written By: Morgans Door

(How long)

Can you forgive me? I know that I've done something wrong

(how long does it take to fight the ghost's I've made, are they there at all?)

(I know, you know, that I know that you know, a secret)

You left the light on, But no one was home

(Can't shake this air you breathe from me)

And now these outlets, protected and safe
(eye's left open, sleep is absent)
And these windshields,
(Hope is broken)
Ask the question
(silent state)
Will we be the same

Can you forgive me? I know that I've done something wrong

(how long does it take to fight the ghost's I've made, are they there at all?)

(I know, you know, that I know that you know, a secret)

Syncopation of feet as they march through the
Patch of rose's, scorn from the winters touch.

'lumination of half dusk, half dawn
My mind wanders a pile of, dim lit dusk

How long, how long has it been, since I slept?
Sleepy eyes follow, sleepy minds under breath,
is a whisper of, tangible, aching bones, under bones, under sidewalks

Now this wave, is the water between my sight
and I'm over, or is this the end of days?
Is this more then, can I touch your skin with mine?
Are you for me?
Or is this the end of...

And over shoulders, this glance will remain

(don't want your sympathy I'm wrong)

To ask the windshield, of the questions,
(eye's left open, sleep is absent)
is this anger?
(Hope is broken)
or is this passion?
(Silent state)
