Bio
Hailing from Allston, MA, Mornin' Old Sport is a six piece band aimed at exploring different genres of music with each album. Their live set incorporates guitar, drums, upright bass, electric bass, rhodes, french horn, trumpet, glockenspiel, toy piano, banjo, and mandolin, while their recordings are orchestrated even further. Their debut EP, Mourning Sickness, was recorded in-house at the band's studio, The Batting Cage, and is released under the band's label, Misery Loves Co.. The project started with an undefined group of ten musicians, and by the record's release, six members (Zebulon Croll, Brian Arnold, Jeff Price, Kate Smeal, David Stallings, and Scott Nanos) remained, solidifying the band's current lineup. The band's name, derived from Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby", illustrates the group's passion for intricate lyrics and signifies their reckless pursuit in advancing their craft. Their upcoming debut album, Houses Without Homes, is an homage to country and folk music. The album will be recorded in Carbondale, CO (The new Headquarters of Misery Loves Co.) and will be Mornin' Old Sport's first full-length release. Stay tuned for online releases of demos and listen for the new tunes in their live set!
