A decade is a very long time in the world of rock and roll, and to trace the mighty roots of MORS ONTOLOGICA is to travel back ten years and more...deep into the mystic past to the strange and forgotten realms of foggy history, to the lost years of rock...to that weird and mysterious era arriving after the death of grunge and many many years before the rise of shitgaze.
 
Hurtling backwards through time and space, we find the waning years of legendary garage rock kings NEVERWHERE. Our heroes, bloodied but unbowed, brothers in arms, marauding their way across the broken landscapes of the middle American west...some of the last of the true believers in the power of rock and roll to fulfill a life of destiny, love and freedom...and then to find this intrepid band of rock and roll warriors emerging from the smoking crater of the volatile combo's inevitable implosion to travel out amidst the burning wreckage, born forth from this fiery crucible as a phoenix born from the ashes of it's own demise...a beast with a rock and roll heart, a cosmic mind in the heavens and worn out boots on the street...searching the horizon with the blurry yet determined eyes of dreamers, survivors, mystic brethren of music and love, building their own world from scratch...from the detritus and debris amidst the crumbling decay of what remains of a western civilization lost and quickly fading.

so many miles, so many adventures, so many battles, so many scars, so many loves, so many visions won...the long hard fight that makes the fighters and their allies into a real family...six years, five critically acclaimed l.p.'s and hundreds of shows later, it is no accident that we now find MORS ready to birth it's newest album from the womb of an abandoned church because ,to MORS, rock and roll is sacred...that which gives direction and substance to a life both of flesh and of spirit...that which merges the living with the life...BURY YOUR DEAD is a celebration of what has been and what is...to make peace with the past and to seal it's tomb with an eye toward the future...still scanning the horizon for that continued glory in he life and the living of it...searching for that home in love and freedom through the transformational power of rock and roll...and won't you join us, brothers and sisters...won't you join us?
