Moses Cotton is an unusual writer. He is unconcerned with writing a hit song for the latest diva. His songs are life reflections about himself and the people he meets. When I first heard his demo, I put it in the player and went about my business at the office. I was soon distracted by his subtle wit and word choice. Painting verbal pictures of the people he sings about, his words captivate, drawing the listener into his world, sharing his perceptions. I got in touch with him immediately but it was weeks before we met and I saw him perform live. He has a casual elegance in his performance. A deceptive simplicity which draws you in.
