Bio
My goal is to inspire people to think and to question. I want them to feel something. There's an intensity and power to my music that reaches many audiences because I capture realities that we experience but often have a hard time articulating. I address social and political issues as well as the bones of everyday life.
I won an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting in the Great American Songwriting Contest in 2008 for the Contemporary Acoustic/Folk Category.
I grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, the Doors, the Stones, the Beatles. Currently I find inspiration in Bruce Cockburn, Jackson Browne and Eliza Gilkyson.
My training as a Marriage and Family Therapist gives my writing an unusual perspective, providing insight and depth to the issues I write about.
