Bio
Although together for little more than a year, Moss Rock have made a name for themselves in their hometown of Victoria, BC. Whether its being featured on Shaw TVs The Daily, interviewed by Chek TV’s Gordie Tupper or being chosen for a feature article in The Martlet, the band maintains a humble attitude despite their reputation as local celebrities.
The momentum the band has generated so far has been largely due to their energetically engaging live performances and innovative marketing tactics. The band goes to great lengths to entertain audiences including interactive sing-alongs, composing personalized songs for their biggest fans and even constructing a full-fledged robot costume for their performance with How To Build A Robot. To promote their release of The Mary Street Sessions EP, the band has hidden rocks in every city they have played in that simply say mossrockband.com on one side and have a unique ID number on the other side. Upon visiting the website, there is a link to a video that explains what to do if you find a rock. Send the band an email with the unique ID number and they will send you a free gift. Gifts include Moss Rock promotional swag and tickets to upcoming shows in the area.
Moss Rock is Nate Ripley and Norm Young on lead vocals and guitars with Jeff Bauman on bass and Paul Smith on drums. All members of the band met through a posting on Craigslist.
