Bio
Mosto is a music group from Alentejo (south of Portugal). Since its formation, in 2010, the artistic work of its three members: César Silveira (piano), Paulo Ribeiro (voice) and Carlos Arruda (voice), is based on the gathering and recreation of the traditional ways of the Alentejo, but also including original compositions made in collaboration with some renowned authors of traditional Portuguese music such as: Amélia Muge or João Monge. The group also collaborates in artistic partnerships with visual artists such as Susa Monteiro or Nuno Matos.
Reinventing the oral tradition of the Alentejo as an entity, as an identity in permanent construction, is the pillar on which the group stands, in an unique musical style, filled with contemporary approaches.
