"The Illest Shit You Never Heard"

I tend to favore the more lyrical than the one who are based on energy, but there's something about the piano that puts this track back on the playlist time after time. Really, that's the whole theme of the Metamorphs' latest album Stepping Stones. The production is solid throughout and hits that Hip-Hop bone on every track. The head never stops nodding(...that's what she said). As far as the lead single and its video, take notice of the grafn in the background. When was the last time you walked down the sidewalk and just randonly saw a mural on a wall? Somebody bring back the art. It's a little cliche to say a group is bringing the music back to the certain period, but it is tempting to put that label on these guys. - Colby White (Fan)

Bio

After surviving a nearly fatal car accident with the police at 65mph and experiencing death,

Sum-in-1 awoke with a new outlook and mission, which began with dedicating his life to his music.

Mostow aka "Sum-in-1" The MC/Producer bringing a solution for the current state of Hip Hop.

Aaron Mostow aka "Mostow" aka "Sum-in-1" was born in Los Angeles in 1982 AD. His mother being from The Philippines and his father from Atlanta, Georgia.

After the divorce of his parents, he was raised in a single parent house, where poverty played a role in developing his hunger for more. He searched for outlets to express his perspective without turning to, an all too accessible, gang life and instead embraced the culture of Hip Hop.

Aaron was exposed to many elements of Hip Hop in his teenage years. He began to break-dance, and do graffiti at the young age of 13. He began to DJ in late 1998 at the age of 16, picking up quickly on the fundamentals of performing as a DJ. He studied scratching, mixing, juggling and emerged as a DJ, producing Mix-Tapes, spinning house parties, hip hop shows and raves. He also promoted his own events called “Underground Anthem”, which gave him an opportunity to showcase his talent along with his crew of musicians. As a DJ, he enjoyed rocking the party, but also had a dream of, one day, rocking that same party with his own beats and rhymes.

Aaron decided to plug the microphone into his mixer and writing lyrics and freestyle rapping. Over a period of time, he evolved from being a DJ into being an MC. He was strongly influenced by many of the great MC’s and Rappers who came before him, along with other revolutionary musical talents, such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Bob Marley. Aaron also studied creative writing to enhance his skills at lyricism while working as a teacher’s assistant for the Los Angles Unified School District. Aaron educated the youth in all elements of Hip Hop in a special after school program he helped organize with other sponsors of the Los Angeles community.

Always searching for the right beat to rap to, Aaron began studying music technology in college from 2000 to 2002 and learned the art of beat making. He composed his first beat in 2001. His main inspiration for beat production was the legendary Dr. Dre. Aaron applied his knowledge from being a DJ toward creating musical beats. This method aided him to develop a finely tuned ear for musical composition and style.

In mid-2001, Aaron, known by the alias Sum-in-1 at that time, helped form the Los Angeles based Hip Hop group, The Metamorphs. The group consists of Sum-In-1, Mobius, The Seer, and DJ Leviathan. Composed of 3 MC’s and 1 DJ, The Metamorphs released their first EP, “Illumined States”, in 2003. Along with the fame derived from live performances, they gained great exposure with one single from the EP entitled “Pride”. The track is featured on an internationally distributed Hip Hop compilation entitled, “The Crate Diggers EXP”.

In 2002, Aaron was introduced to Temple Effectives, the men’s lifestyle clothing brand, rooted in Hip Hop. He began to work for the company as a street team member, promoting to consumers on a personal level. Over the years, Aaron’s ambition in sales was rewarded with the position of general manager and eventually evolved into his present day rank of Co-Owner of Temple Effectives Clothing.

July 31st, 2004 was the day that changed Aaron’s life forever. He was involved in a severe car accident, which left him with a near death, out-of-body experience to ponder. Heading home on a California freeway after a performance, Aaron crashed into a parked police car, in the slow lane, at about sixty miles an hour. The impact knocked the two officers inside the car unconscious, breaking the female officer’s nose and inflicting severe whiplash to the male officer sitting in the passenger seat. Awaking from the accident with an air bag smothering his face and his car utterly demolished, Aaron, and the officer’s lives were spared. Luckily Aaron suffered no bodily injuries, but was arrested for a Felony DUI. After a year of court and lawsuits, all charges were dropped and settled. This intense and eye-opening experience gave birth to a new outlook on life and a renewed chance to truly live life in full appreciation for the first time. Aaron humbled himself and completely dedicated his efforts toward his music from that point forward.

Aaron’s group, The Metamorphs, dropped their 2nd Album, “Stepping Stones”, in 2007. A 20 track LP, available on ITUNES, the album is an instant classic packed with hits, dynamic beats and powerful lyrics. The Metamorphs have built a strong following in Southern California and they are working on another album and future tours.

In June of 2010, Aaron released his highly anticipated solo album entitled “ANYWHERE” featuring special guests, C-Rayz Walz, The Metamorphs, Slug -of Atmosphere, Destruct, Noah Lowman, Active, Kev Da Khemist, DJ Leviathan,
