Mother the Car was formed in 2011 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Garett Hatch and his brother, drummer Casey Trivett. Vocalist/ keyboardist Meg Cape was added to the lineup in early 2012 and the band has developed a solid reputation in the Athens music scene for their dynamic live shows featuring their unique style of blues rock which has been described by Flagpole magazine as "powerful and fierce". The band recently added versatile musician and former Humms frontman Zeke Sayre for bass duties. MtC blends blues and rock with shades of country and folk and continue to please eyes and ears whenever they perform including the Athens Human Rights Festival and the venerable 40 Watt Club,
