Bio

Mother & Son are a two piece who play music... it’s mainly electric, it’s fuzzy, it’s dirty, it’s bluesy, it’s loud, it’s different... it sounds kinda old sounding... kinda like Elvis... except Elvis was a little pansy girl compared to Mother and Son. It is fun to dance to... and they love to play it for you... so everyone has fun... except people that like clean voices and clean shaven faces... and people who want to keep their hearing... but who likes those people anyways?

Mother & Son have been told they sucked by a guy who was drunk enough to believe he was the manager of The Velvet Underground and Sting and were once told that they sounded like a cat being forcibly bathed. Yes these were great compliments, however they have also been compared to the likes of The Black Keys, R.L Burnside, Vasco Era and the Black Lips. With their improvisational and loose style no two performances are ever the same.

Having recently finished their debut self-titled, self-recorded, self-mixed and mastered Mother & Son EP, M&S quickly became FBI’s radio’s unsigned artist of the week and are on their regular play list. Not bad for two microphones, an empty circus space and a sunny summer afternoon.

Mother & Son have been playing regular shows around the traps, supporting acts from genres of Rock to Reggae to Hip Hop and still manage to scare the audience into some kind of foot stomping boogie. Recently playing along side Ash Grunwald (Vic), The Gimmies (Japan), Los Hories (NZ), Roger That (Gold Coast), Casual Projects (ACT), and the all mighty Pink Fits in venues such as the Hopetoun Hotel, Heritage Hotel (Bulli), Harp Hotel, Oxford Tavern, Wollongong Unibar, Waves, The Tea Club (Nowra) and Music Farmers.

They are embarking on their first tour in July and have secured some of the greatest venues Melbourne Australia has to offer, along with some amazing bands.
