"BASK IN OWEN BONES' SEDUCTIVE NEW SINGLE [EXCLUSIVE]"

Music heads, listen up. Premiering exclusively on Milk is “Anywhere,” a new single by 22-year-old, Chicago-based producer Owen Bones, featuring Brooklyn-based singer Mothica (aka Mckenzie Ellis). That’s right, the mastermind behind “Stuntman,” who’s celebrated for his electronic/hip-hop/alternative beats, has blessed us with yet another fresh track. With undertones of Phantogram and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, “Anywhere” is a pretty versatile number, something you can listen to while getting ready to go out, while going hard on the dance floor, and then while trying to stay awake in your Uber ride home.

Blame it on the collaboration; a marriage of Bones’ incredible skills and Mothica’s raspy, seductive vocals, “Anywhere” is pretty unparalleled in an industry saturated with beats by self-proclaimed artists—and, while you’re waiting for Bones’ upcoming album, Dive Club, to drop on November 18th, it’s the perfect tune to whet your appetite. In addition to Mothica, Bones’ upcoming album features a slew of other talented artists including Tunji Ige, lil aaron, The Cool Kids, and Saba, and—we have a feeling—will not disappoint. Check out the young artist’s musical brilliance below. - Milk Media

"[PREMIERE] Rising Producer Pusher Delivers Breakout Original Single "Clear""

We’re very pleased to introduce a rising Toronto based producer Pusher to the site with the lead single off his forthcoming EP. He has some strong remixes under his belt, but this new single really stood out to us and has us quite excited about this talented producer who has a self described “Neon” style.

This new original track “Clear” brings on brooklyn based female vocalist Mothica for her gentle voice and is a perfect match for the style of production as her irresistible singing effortlessly floats atop the instrumental. Pusher has crafted layers of bright synths packing a playful, bouncey vibe leading up to a drop consisting of shuffling, colorful synths that bring an uplifting melody you won’t be able to get enough of. This new tune really is future bass at its finest and has us eagerly awaiting more material off the EP slated for release in June. Enjoy! - This Song Is Sick

"MAX - Listen #3"

NAME: McKenzie Ellis
HOMETOWN: Oklahoma City, OK
AGE: 21
For McKenzie Ellis of Mothica, music and art have always been present in her life. Her creative inclinations are manifested in a myriad of ways — drawing, printmaking, sewing, painting, jewelry making, songwriting, piano, and guitar. Despite all of her talent, a career in the music industry was not on her roadmap when she finished high school. “After moving to New York to study interactive computer programming, a stranger gifted me a synth and a microphone,” McKenzie shares, “I think my parents were just as surprised as I was when I decided to pursue music, but sometimes impulses are inexplicable.”
Now the pieces are falling into place, and McKenzie is able to continue with a broad approach to creative expression. She is involved in the songwriting, producing, and oftentimes the visuals of her album artwork. “More than anything, Mothica is an all-encompassing project for me,” McKenzie explains. “The thoughts, the words, the love, the hurt, the music, the images; it's simultaneously an emotional outlet and my truest self. Creating allows me to be unabashedly honest in ways I can’t in my everyday life.”
Today, we're excited to share the release of Mothica’s latest single “Out of It”, a catchy breakup song set to a deep, melodic synth. “It's written from my perspective at the end of a relationship that was as intense as it was swift; the aftermath of falling out with someone you love. Everything I was so certain about collapsed in on me and it left me wary and disoriented.”
