"Motorboat to headline concert series"

"The Random Lake Pizzeria Presents: Random Acts of Rock" will debut on Saturday, May 28. It will be a monthly outdoor concert series designed to highlight some of the area's fastest rising and most talented live rock acts. Motorboat, a four-piece rock 'n' roll band from Random Lake, will headline the concert each month. In addition to Motorboat, there will be a wide variety of acts opening for and accompanying Motorboat on stage.

There is no charge for admission to the show, which will be held at the pizzeria. This is an all-ages event. A wide assortment of food and beverages will be available for sale on the premises at the pizzeria.

Several of the dates for the concert series have been set, with more to be announced as the summer progresses.

Acts scheduled to join Motorboat on stage are:

May 28 — Glenview Lane and All Those Animals, both of Grafton

June 18 — For the Win, a three-piece experimental indie blues-rock band from West Allis

The idea for a summer-long concert series was spawned by the members of Motorboat, who are residents of Random Lake, and Mason Schwab of Random Media Distribution. The group approached Tom Mole, the owner of Random Lake Pizzeria about having an outdoor concert series to spotlight local musical talent.

The series is scheduled to run through at least September. More information will be available on Motorboat's Myspace and Facebook pages and also can be obtained by calling Schwab at 414-759-8738. - Green Bay Press Gazette

Bio

Motorboat is a four piece rock and roll band that consists of four very talented musicians with very different musical styles and personalities. Their influences range from classic rock to contemporary indie rock and just about everything in between. Motorboat's story began in the bustling metropolis of Belgium, Wisconsin in 2007. They began writing songs and playing cover songs of the bands who had influenced them musically...and that is how the ground work for the band that would become Motorboat was laid down. The members in Motorboat had all been involved in the local music scene previously, but Motorboat is the first time these four talented musicians would join forces for the cause of Rock and Roll.
Nic R and Ric have always shared guitar duties, with Nic R playing lead while Ric plays rhythm and also provides the lead vocals. Early 2009 saw the addition of Nick D after the departure of their original bassist. Over the years Motorboat has dabbled with a few different line ups including a stint where they had a second drummer in addition to Motorboat's current drummer Stephen. Motorboat has played well known venues in the Midwest such as The Elbo Room in Chicago, The Frequency in Madison, Wisconsin, The Miramar Theatre in Milwaukee, The Terminal in Minneapolis and Milwaukee's very own Summerfest.
