Motor Sunday - The Answer to a Question:
Can there be a band that has a unique sound, while staying true to a common message?
Can there be a band that allows their influences and personalities to shine through?
The answer to the question is Motor Sunday.
Extremely original and emotionally driven, with a style that is distinct because every song is different, Motor Sunday brings a new attitude to Cleveland music...a different feel, a different emotion.
Motor Sunday is a rock band. It's as simple as that.
Motor Sunday was initially the collaboration of college friends from Cleveland's John Carroll University. Dan Scanlon, Mike Murphey and Tom Scheidemantel got together and started playing cover songs while working on original material. In 2001, Paul Hospodar joined up as vocalist, and soon took over rhythm guitar duties.
With influences that include Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Sunny Day Real Estate, Led Zepplin and CCR, Motor Sunday is hard to classify...but they are definitely a ROCK band, which has warranted comparisons to bands such as Pearl Jam, Nickelback, and Stone Temple Pilots and Fuel for their ability to hit hard musically yet remain introspective and thoughtful in their lyrics.
The band has played at many of the well-known venues in the Cleveland area, as both headliner and support for a variety of musicians.
