State of Mound (release June 2005)

Feeling a bit camera shy

Formed in 2003, Mound is hard alternative rock somewhere between Velvet Revolver and Smashing Pumpkins.

While the band itself is considered a newcomer to the Detroit and Ann Arbor scene, several band members have made the rounds on the Detroit (St Thomas Boys Academy) and Cleveland scenes over the past 10+ years. Mound is already making a name for themselves before the March 2005 release of their 12 song CD, tentatively titled “State of Mound”.

The band is hosting the 2005 Tribute Night schedule at the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The schedule for the year includes rock favorites from Nirvana and Radiohead to Old School Punk nights and Rockabilly. As the host band, Mound has obtained print, radio and retail sponsors for the monthly shows and has recently completed its first Tribute to Nirvana to a packed house of almost 100 people.

Mound has set up a web site, at http:/// detailing the songs and acts that will be playing the 2005 Tribute Night schedule and is launching its’ own web site at in April 2005.
