"Mountain Doom - Nothing Else To Do"

Mountain Doom sind laut eigener Angaben eine Surf Drone Band aus Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Nothing Else To Do beginnt lässig und mit nonchalantem Gesang - bis sich nach dem Refrain der Song langsam und instrumental verspielt auflöst. Nice! - No Resort

"Mountain Doom: Nothing Else To Do (Single, 2010)"

- The Jangle Box

"Mountain Doom: Nothing Else To Do"

I never liked rollercoasters. They were always too intense, as if the slow climb of life wasn’t quite enough for some people. But I’ll admit that nothing quite comes close to the moment when you reach the summit of the track, feeling the air and the quiet settle before the enormous heave of a machine pulling you downwards, wind sailing your hair.
This gem from Mountain Doom starts with a rush, punctured by lackadaisical singing, musing on the favourite subject of slackers - boredom and how to escape it through dreams and wandering. Half-way through the song shows its legs with a sprawling instrumental section, a slow-climb of its own, one that never quite gets back to the top. - Double Denim Records

"Mountain Doom: Whenever"

Yawning is the desire to stretch one’s muscles. Yawns are often accompanied by the urge to stretch. Animals often have to be ready to spring into action at any given moment. The muscles required to do this function better when stretched.
So check out the satisfyingly deep yawn of this Mountain Doom track as it stretches its legs in preparation for the acid rain dissolve of it’s final third. - Double Denim Records

Still working on that hot first release.
