MOUNT RUSHMORE SAFARI - is a brand new indie pop group from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band was formed in the beginning of 2011, and released their first EP in February 2012 - a self entitled collection of 7 upbeat pop songs with tongue in cheek lyrics, corny synthesizers, and an ever present liquidly rocking 80s guitar sound.
Within the short period of time that the band has existed, Mount Rushmore Safari has already been playing a long series of concerts, supporting well established Danish acts such as Kellermensch, Coco Moon, Sterling, and Gardens & Villa (US).
The band was selected “Band of the Week” only two months into their existence on Bandbase.dk, and has been interviewed, air-played, and invited to play live - on national alternative radio station “P6“, Denmark.
Their first single "Everything's about to Fall" has played on various radio stations in both Denmark and the UK, their music video for "Magic Moment Friend" has been featured in Germany on PutPatTV, and their track “No(r)way” has made it to a compilation cd that's been distributed to 200 "Maple Electronics" stores in the UK.
Mount Rushmore Safari are unsigned and release their mini-album independently in 40 webshops and streaming services in Europe and the US through the American digital distributor Reverbnation.
The band are now working on their full length debut album, which is set to be released in the beginning of 2013.
