"Swingin in the Rain"

...depite Sunday Night's rain we took to the mostly deserted roads that night to head up to the always happenin' Red Parka Pub in beautiful and wet downtown Glen.
Much to our surprise, the place was packed, as swing dancing enthusiasts and big band fans turned out in force to support Marv Haber's Swingtones, which played a benefit for the Gibson Senior Services Center and the Conway Area Humane Society.
Marv's promoter and sidekick, Kristen Corrigan, gave swing dance lessons outside on the porch...
The event raised $409 and was a wonderful addition to the array of nightlife in the valley... - Conway Daily Sun June 30, 2009

"Swingtones Big Band Group"

... The sunday night jazz and big band music series is sponsored by WJSK-FM 101.1 of Bartlett. The first two sessions were well attended, and Stu Dunlop of the Wildcat Inn and Tavern envisions the possibility of the group performing outdoor shows at the Wildcat this summer as well as for wedding functions at the tavern.
Among the members of the band are Therese Davison, musical director for Kennett High School; Mike Hathatway, former musical director at Kennett High School; and Al Hospers, who is the host for the Tuesday night Hoot Night series, and who formerly played bass with Blood, Sweat & Tears... - Conway Daily Sun, 2/1/09
