Mourning Joe came to life in the Winter of 2009. Craig and Gene were working on a cover project and had Joe pop in and play some bass for them at a show. The idea of original music came up and Mourning Joe was born. Henry joined the ranks shortly thereafter and the line-up was complete.
The band began writing and arranging new material. The new material was recorded and the natural evolution of songwriting began. An EP was released on iTunes and Rhapsody in July 2009 and included the first four tracks the band completed. New material is currently being written, arranged and recorded.
