Born in Austin, TX. Shaped by New Orleans. Healed Post Katrina in Pensacola Beach, FL. "Lonesome Cowgirl" isn't lonesome anymore! But the songs just keep coming~

This multi-talented triple threat was influenced by the folk music wave of the '60's and warped by the musical humor of Tom Lehrer. Underneath the irreverent humor lies a sweetness and poignancy that leaves the listener satisfied that poetry is still a part of songwriting. The songs are presented here in a bare bones acoustic form, but beg for a brilliant producer to shape them to fit the cover band's style.

New Orleans Artist MOUSIE has been writing songs since the 70's. By the early 80's she was performing regularly at The Penny Post in New Orleans (later The Neutral Ground.) Don't laugh! It's a small coffee house venue, but the Dixie Chicks played there in the late '80's! MOUSIE traveled the country in a covered wagon in the early 90's writing and performing at off the wall venues with a talented New Orleans pianist/songwriter. The mid 90's were the years when she started publishing her New Orleans Print Art (available at http://www.MOUSIE.com) and there was little time for performing, but by the time the 21st Century arrived she was back to performing occasional short gigs at Checkpoint Charlie's on Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans, Lucky's on St. Charles Avenue, and every Friday Night at the salons that were held at her Art Studio on Elysian Fields Avenue on the edge of the French Quarter, just a block away from Frenchmen Street.

Never a cover artist, she has always performed only her own writing, and it is the love of the songwriting itself that has always driven her.

After Hurricane Katrina blasted her out of New Orleans she landed on Pensacola Beach, where she let her guitar play second fiddle to a ukulele and swapped Open Mic Nights for a troubadour approach on the beach and in the beach bars. Her muse becomes most active, though, when writing made-to-order songs for particular needs ("Zombies Drinkin' at the Bar" was written on October 31st before hitting the Hallowe'en Pub Crawl on the Beach! "We Haven't Yet Learned How to Love" was written in response to reading the plotline of a movie about a little robot boy who is trying to learn how to be a real little boy, and whose scientist "father" discovers that the robots will be used for military rather than humanitarian purposes.)
