Bio

Moving Mountains was initially formed as an after school (high-school) recording project by tech wiz-kid / multi-instrumentalist Greg Dunn and drummer Nick Pizzolato. The project developed into a full fledged band when Deep Elm Records released their debut album, Pneuma, in 2007. The album married traditional songwriting structures with lush post-rock arrangements and earned them devoted praise from newfound fans and critics. The combination of praise and concerts Chairlift, Thursday, Kevin Devine, As Tall As Lions and The Dear Hunter led to the sale of over 2,000 copies of Pneuma in under one year.

In late 2008 Moving Mountains began work on their Foreword EP. With Dunn at the production helm, the forty-minute, four-song, album found the band delving deeper into their aggressive and ambient influences. The band opted to go the go the DIY route and release Foreword on their own Caertera Recordings label in early 2009. While some bands might be scared about being label-less, Moving Mountains have continued to develop an international word of mouth following that includes members of bands like Thursday, Say Anything and Straylight Run, all of whom have invited the band to join them on tours across America throughout 2009.

Moving Mountains will release a new album in 2011 on Triple Crown Records.
