Moving Target formed in the summer of 2007 when Scott, who quit his previous band two months earlier, got the "itch to rock." He ran into Jamey at a party, where he showed Scott an itchy patch of his skin. They decided that they should join forces and scratch together. One day Ray showed up as the two were scratching, and he showed them a rash he had developed. They let him in and the three took turns scratching each other.
When not scratching, the band is playing infectious punk rock with a message, being compared to the Descendents, Rise Against, and Samiam. Moving Target released their self-titled debut full length in September 2009. They continue their scratching in support of the record, and can be found by following the trails of dead skin that they leave behind.
