mo wilson and the drivers

Forging their own sound from the sandy plains of Perth, Mo Wilson and the Drivers fuse elements of blues, soul, gospel and pop to create a unique brand of quirky rock and moodier landscapes. Having spent his early twenties following music, love and life from London to New York to Milan, Mo returned to Australia to pursue his song-writing in earnest. An incidental cofee-shop chat with drummer Nigel Bird set the wheels in motion. With Luke Willott on guitar and Sean LIllico on bass, the Drivers were complete. Formed in late 2004 the band and its' sound blossomed organically over a short period in which one of those early jams was recorded as a demo, and a bunch of gigs followed as well as a healthy ammount of airplay on Perth's RTR. In their first year MW + the D's clocked up some quick miles playing with the likes of Josh Pyke, The Drones, Dan Brodie and the Broken Arrows, the Kill Devil Hills, Schvendes, the Mess Hall and the Vasco Era as well as featuring at RTR's annual "In The Pines" .
