Mozaik

Mozaik’s sound can only be described as a high-energy fusion of Rock and Soul with pop sensibilities. Based in Sydney, the nucleus of the band is Anton Aktila on lead vocals and brothers, Gionni and Dan Romeo (lead and rhythm guitarist). Mozaik are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album.

Anton’s career was kickstarted after being one of the finalists in the first series of Australian Idol in 2003. He then joined the Robertson Brothers. During his time with the Robertson Brothers, Anton has sang the backing vocals on Shannon Noll's Album, Anthony Calea's Album and sang the theme song for the Australian TV series 'Home and Away'. He now writes and produces music with Gionni Romeo under the banner ‘The Soundcrew’. Anton’s love is R&B and Soul. His major influences are Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye.

Gionni Romeo is a professional guitarist/ producer/engineer. Throughout his music career to date, Gionni has been blessed with the opportunity to perform music with some talented artists such as Anton, Sarah- Jane, Claire Clarke, Adam Alexander, and Tamara Jaber. He has played live on various TV shows including Mornings with Kerri-Anne,Today show, and The Morning show . He is currently the guitarist for Cosima De Vito. As a producer Gionni has worked with bands like Cosima De Vito, The Venus Destruction, and has recorded, The Jefferson, and Tamara Jaber. Gionni’s major influences include Muse, U2, Baby Animals, The Foo Fighters and The Beatles.

Dan Romeo is an earthy soulful guitarist. He has worked in many bands around Sydney. One of those bands, Bonic, opened for INXS in Croatia. Dan has performed on Mornings with Kerri-anne and has also toured New Zealand with the Pan-Pacific Jazz Orchestra. Dan’s experience drawn from playing in bands of different genres, brings a wide palette of sounds to Mozaik. His major influences include Muse, Radiohead, The Killers and Jeff Buckley. Dan’s raw, soulful sound lays a solid platform for Mozaik’s signature sound.

Mozaiks’ debut album ”It’s Life” promises to be a mix of high-energy rock fused with Soul and pop ballads. Anton’s R&B style vocals with Gionni and Dan’s guitar licks provide the signature Mozaik sound.
