Biography

GROWING UP IN AN ERA WHEN RAP WAS MORE LYRICAL AND POSITIVE, I BECAME A TRUE HIP HOP FAN IN 1987, OVER 2 DECADES AGO RAPPER "BIG DADDY KANE " INSPIRED MY JOURNEY TO BECOME A MC.

TRYING HARD TO BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY, I TOOK RAP TO ANOTHER LEVEL AS AN MC NAMED J.O.T.C AKA "JACKER OF THE CENTURY" in 1993.

I HOOKED UP WITH A CHILD HOOD FRIEND NAMED "GANGSTA BY NATURE" AND MY DJ "DJ MIKE".

Years later I realized "JACKER OF THE CENTURY" IS NOT A VERY POSITIVE NAME, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT MY LIFESTYLE BACK THEN and that's why I chose that name.

DJ MIKE, GANGSTA BY NATURE, AND I ALL GOT ON ONE ACCORD AND DROPPED A TAPE TITLED "FACES OF DEATH".

After selling 900 TAPES, videos, AND being offered COUNTLESS CONTRACTS FROM SMALL RECORD AND PRODUCTION COMPANIES, THE SITUATION JUST DIDN'T WORK OUT.

I STILL HAD A HUNGER AND DESIRE TO MAKE MY DEBUT IN THIS INDUSTRY. WITH MY ENTIRE HOOD AND BOYZ BEHIND ME, I NEVER GAVE UP.

WE ENDED UP DOING SHOWS ALONG SIDE MC BREED, YZ, XCLAN, MC EIGHT, AND THE GHETTO BOYS, BUT STILL MY SUCCESS WAS LIMITED.

YOUNG AND FRUSTRATED, I TURNED TO THE ONLY OUTLET I KNEW WOULD WORK FOR ME, "THE STREETS".

LONG STORY SHORT, IN 1996 MY OUTLET LANDED ME IN PRISON FOR 7 YEARS. BEING IN PRISON I FELT LOST, BUT NEVER LOST FOCUS OF MY desire TO MAKE A NAME IN THIS RAP INDUSTRY. WHILE BEING INCARSERATED, I EAGERLY WROTE OVER 300 SONGS, 2 BOOKS, AND NUMEROUS POEMS.

AFTER 7 LONG YEARS OF HELL, I WAS RELEASED. OCT. 26, 2002.

That was THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I CAME HOME TO A GREAT FAMILY, BUT NO MONEY, NO JOB, NO HOOK UPS, AND NO HOPE.

STILL FOCUSED, I GOT BACK IN TOUCH WITH DJ MIKE, WHOM CHANGED HIS NAME TO "TAYLOR MADE" , AND HOPE WAS RESTORED. WE DROPPED MY FIRST SINGLE TITLED "NOW U KNOW", WHICH BECAME AN INSTANT HOOD BANGER.

Shortly thereafter I DROPPED MY FIRST CD TITLED, "YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION IS YOUR LAST IMPRESSION" AND SUCCESS WAS FINALLY IN MY PATH.

I WAS BACK GRINDING ALL DAY AND NIGHT, PERFORMING NONSTOP SHOWS, SELLING OUT THE TRUNK, RADIO APPEARANCES, IN SEARCH OF A DEAL, IN SEARCH OF A COMPANY THAT BELIEVED IN ME.

BY 2005, MY PATIENCE WAS TESTED TIME AND TIME AGAIN, AND FRUSTRATION RETURNED ME TO THE STREETS . GOD AND A CONVERSATION WITH TAYLOR MADE JUMP STARTED ME RIGHT BACK ON TRACK AND NOW MY PRODUCER TAYLOR MADE AND I, 1 CHANCE ARE PROUD OWNERS OF BEEN DOWN RECORDS.

FORCED TO FUND EVERYTHING OUT OF OUR OWN POCKETS, WE FINALLY RECEIVED MORE HELP FROM "WICKET CRICKET" AND BEGAN A JOURNEY TO SUCCESS THAT INCLUDED COUNTLESS CONCERTS, TV SHOWS, AND PERFORMING AN AIDS TRIBUTE SINGLE TITLED "I DO” WITH ARTISTS SUCH AS LIL WAYNE TO KELLY ROWLAND AT ONE OF THE LARGEST "AIDS AWARENESS" CONCERTS IN THE WORLD AT THE RELIANT CENTER.

NOW I AM 1 CHANCE, AND WITH THE HELP OF THE GOOD LORD, YOU WILL KNOW MY NAME WELL IN THIS RAP GAME. I'VE GOT THINGS TO SAY, LIVES TO CHANGE, SO NO MATTER WHAT "I WON'T STOP UNTIL THE CASKET DROP OR THE WORLD POP. WHICH EVER COME FIRST".
