Born in the suburbs outside of Detroit, MI, and born as D.J. Duey (a.k.a. Mr. Duey). He has studied the art of hip-hop, and learned the history rap music from its earliest roots. Performing house parties, mid-sized venues, and also competing in rap battles with some of the most elite competitors in and around Detroit. Mr. Duey had released three solo albums from 2000 - 20004, with lyrics pertaining to the days and life of a young twenty year old. Mr. Duey was signed to a small indie label in Detroit after hearing about Mr. Duey's third release called "Faze 1". The contract was shortly canceled after the signing due to financial complications within the label. Mr. Duey then attended Central Michigan University to earn his teaching degree. While at Central Michigan, he continued to write, record, and battle fellow friends and rappers on campus. In 2004 Mr. Duey had switched colleges an attended Eastern Michigan University where he later received his teaching degree. In 2005 Mr. Duey married his high school sweetheart Gina, who is a teacher as well, and had a son name Dominic. Mr. Duey's wife has four sisters all of which are teachers as well. Southgate, MI Public Schools took Mr. Duey on as a 6th grade Math Teacher in 2007-08, where he could also pursue his dream of teaching children.

Mr. Duey's longtime friend and music producer /now record label owner Andrew Yando had moved back from a short stay in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Duey and Yando continued to produce hip-hop beats for local talent. Mr. Duey started to have a vision of designing songs that would not only be relevant to the hip-hop's current times, but make it educational as well. Mr. Duey and Yando met with dozens of teachers at Southgate Gerisch Middle School to research what were the most difficult subjects to teach, and why. After following certain educational guidelines that are needed to pass required elementary test, Mr. Duey and Yando started producing all the original music and lyrics on "Class Dis-Missed" in the Kaas Records Studios. It was later mixed at the award winning Temper Mill Studios, before being sent off to Universal Records in New York City to be mixed and mastered by Grammy Winning Sound Engineer Vlado Meller (also mixed, Kanye West, Run DMC, Lil BowWow, Weezer, Chilli Peppers, Josh Groban, Metallica,). In late 2007 Mr. Duey was signed to a three year recording deal with Kaas Records, LLC. Farmington Hills, MI
